Would you think it unreasonable if you came home from work at 6.30 and your husband was half cut. My husband is off work ill and on antibiotics yet when I came home he was a bit drunk. would you think that was unacceptable

I wouldnt like that at all but maybe he's a little depressed due to having to be off work. I have just got over an awful flu for which I took antibiotics and have to say it made me feel very down in the dumps (alcohol wasnt an option - felt far too ill!). It sounds like a one off in which case I wouldnt worry too much, but I would speak to him about it. Also antibiotics as less effective when taken with alcohol. It doesnt sound too serious but careful with it in case he is depressed and it may be something get more frequent V xx

Oh I just thought its a one off.
I totally understand where you are coming from, if he is drinking that amount then yes I think that is too much. You are just feeling the way I think anyone would, if my OH drank a bottle and opened another I'd probably be very concerned. Can you speak to him about it?

i was on antibiotics once, stopped taking then on a Friday, went out on Saturday and was pickled after drinks. Maybe he didn't have that much too drink before he became drunk.
But the hangover next day...
You don't say how often he drinks. If it's only at weekends, then maybe he is just unwinding

Sorry to hear this Gerardine, I empathise. My husband went thru a very tough time at work, before taking early retirement (redundancy), and he turned to the bottle, whilst taking anti depressants and this knocked him out most nights. It was pretty damn awful for a few years. I think he sounds like one of those guys who just doesn't know when to stop. I have a hard time with that, becos altho I LOVE a drink or two, or three, I never have been ill, and always stop before I loose control. I would just check that there isnt anything worrying him, is everything ok at his work?
