      #197156 - 17/09/2008 16:43

I wondered if anyone knows of a book club in the Glasgow or Lanarkshire area ? I live in Bothwell so handy to travel to either area.

Cathy

I live in Coatbridge and would be very interested in a bookclub. I retired(very early!)last year and would like to widen my circle of contacts. I enjoy reading and have very broad tastes so would be very interested in getting a group going. I was in a book club before at my work and enjoyed it very much as I read books then which I wouldn't normally have tried and was surprised by what I enjoyed.

Hi Cathy

I would be interested in a book club, I live Glasgow Southside so would be convenient.

I have tried to do this before but never managed to get to a first meeting so it would be great if it gets going this time!

Hi, are you still looking for members? I just submitted my own request on the forum unaware of your earlier post (still trying to get the hang of this!). I am 40 years old and new to Glasgow. I am living in the Kirklee/Hillhead area but happy to travel.

Hi everyone

Sorry for not responding sooner but I have limited access to computer at present.

I have just posted a note on the Glasgow bookclub and here you all are on this site ! great to see so much interest.

I am in the local library just now and have a big smile on my face as so pleased that we actually may have a book club !

I am very new to forum side of things but how about we arrange a meeting somewhere central, probably a book store being the best place.

I will attempt to send PM to everyone and hope we can get a first meeting together soon. So excited !! (yes I do have a quiet life !!)
Cathy

Hi there

I have put a separate post on the Glasgow book club link but here it is again.

First meeting of the Glasgow/Lanarkshire book club will be this Saturday 18th October at the Borders bookstore at the Fort Shopping Centre at 2pm.

I will be there early and have the famous W&H magazine on the table to save us walking around looking suspicious eyeing up the other customers !

I have sent PMs to everyone who has responded to the call of the new book club and so looking forward to meeting everyone.

Happy reading
Cathy
