Hello SallyL,

I live in Sutton Coldfield. There are several adverts for reading groups in the library in Sutton town centre and I think Waterstone's runs a book club as well.
Although I love reading I've never joined a book club - I don't think I've got the time to commit to it at the moment.
If you try one of the groups let me know how you get on, and how many books you have to read in what time period.

Good luck!

Hi SallyL

I too would like to join a book club. I live in Four Oaks and have another friend who is interested. I'm happy to go to the library and get some info. Do you have anyone who may also want to join?

Val

Hi

I also live in Four Oaks and I have a friend who might be interested. If you find anything out please let me know. Failing that I guess we could start our own group!

Hi

Will go to the library next week and get back to you. However, yes, we could start our own group, but having been a member of a book club in the past I think six is the minimum number. I could probably find another person. Could you?

Val

Hi

I've been to the library but the reading groups are council run and held in the library. Just one in the evening. I guess it would be pretty serious and not what I had in mind. I don't know what you think. I now have two friends who want to join and I suggest if you're interested, we choose a book and make a arrangeements to meet at my house for our first meeting. We can get to know one another and obviously discuss the chosen book. The group I was in before met monthly, taking it in turns to host the meeting and providing a glass of wine and some nibbles. If you think you'd like to come along and bring a friend and better still two, let me know.

Val

Hi

Yes I am very interested, I looked in the bookshops but the groups are all during the daytime which is no good when you are out at work. Can you give me an idea of what you are planning in terms of time etc.

Thanks Sally

Hi Sally

I thought we could meet at my house on 16th Oct at around 8.00 p.m. and get to know one another. There are three of us. How many will you be bringing? I think we need at least five in the group. I suggest the person who holds the meeting chooses the book and we meet on a monthly basis. Next week we could discuss the finer points. Let me know what you think.

Regards, Val
