Hi Summer I read this book about a year ago and thought it was fantastic!. Very different but gripping! I recommended it to all my friends and expected them to feel the way I did about the book. Some did .....my sister didnt. Let me know what you think. I definately thought it was one of the best books I had ever read. I am sure some of the other ladies will post about this book too. I look forward to reading what others say. However i think some reviews have been posted before....maybe a few months ago. Always enjoy your posts Summer. Take care and happy reading! Grace x

Hi Summer, I tried to read the book on my last holiday, but it just wasn't for me, too descriptive and hard going. I'm more a James Patterson sort of person, fast, snappy, action type thrillers, and someone had leant me the Island saying it was really good. But unfortunately I never finished it. Perhaps I haven't got the imagination for the Island? Sorry.... Snowy x

Really enjoyed this book, my sister gave it to me to read, and as we had just been to Crete and visited Spinna Longa, it became all too real.

Read The Island recently and loved it, although appreciate that it might not be everyone's cup of tea. Went to Spinalonga a few years ago and wished that I had read the book before going. Waiting now to read The Return, I live in Spain so in addition to being written by an author that I admire, it has the local interest.

We went to Crete years ago and visited Spinnalonga. When I read the book a few years later I really could envisage it all and found it an interesting read. Twelve months ago I read the book again and still found it emotionally interesting. Glad some others found it interesting also.
