Hi, I wondered if people wanted to see the list Sea-Lover last updated for us? (I was just doing my next lot if ordering, and thought it may help others!)
We've got until December, so there's no rush yet for next year. Is anybody taking over the list?
Hope this is useful

HI Emerald, didn't mean to ignore you just didn't want to get lost in the rush for taking over the Eyes Down List.NO DANGER THERE THEN!!!!
I think we must have taken Sealover a bit for granted re;same list.I quite miss her contributions too.Anyway much as I love being part of the Eyes Down,I dont really feel like taking over the list. Not sure why of course(no confidence, not computer literate----AT ALL,and various other reasons).
So how do you feel? And any other ladies who may be interested? It would be a shame to let it die(methinks).

Hi girls,i feel the same as nannieconnie don't think i want the responsibility of doing the list but definately don't want Eyes-Down to fold. How do you feel Emerald do you fancy doing it as you've made a start posting the list?

Hi, Ok ladies. I must warn you I'm blonde, scatty, and only JUST learnt how to add a piccy-but, I'm also willing to have a go!! As we know the list is done now until December.
I guess the best way to start would be people to post if they have a month, they would like to choose a book (and if they know the title they'll be choosing.)
We can either do this on this thread, or people can PM me.
And, if by any chance, Sealover you're out there-we miss you and would love you back!!

I don't know about any one else but i like to give quite a bit of thought about what to recommend so will pm you when i've decided. Would be nice to keep it under wraps till nearer xmas, what does anyone else think?

Hi Emerald Thats great that you are going to do the Eyes Down List. I will certainly recommend a book nearer the time. All those people who can post a picture have my admiration. I struggled to do it and when I did it was huge!! Its on the site about posting piccs. I cannot find how to make it smaller. Some kind ladies have tried to help but there instructions dont seem to be the same on an Apple Mac Notebook which is what I use. Im sure I have bored you all silly now! so I will, say Good Bye and Thanks Again, Emerald x

Well done Emerald! I'll send a suggestion in a while. Afraid I haven't read this month's book as it wasn't available from my library! In fact not in the whole county! Have ordered the next one and am hoping it will be in soon. Am just re reading 1000 Splendid suns by Khaled Housseini for one of my other book groups - what a marvellous powerful book. Enjoying (if that's the right word) just as much as when I first read it. I'm just so thankful I live in this country -we take our freedom so much for granted and have so much to be grateful for.

Me too, I don't belong to the Eyes Down club, but spent most of Saturday afternoon having a cry while I was finishing Thousand Splendid Suns - brilliant. I'm wondering now whether to read his other book, the Kite Runner, have any of you ladies read it??????

Thanks ladsies. Pm me whenever,we can all muck in and I'm sure it'll work.
The pics I have to thank Loo for-who so patiently one night pm'd me and got me there! Her instuctions are on a thread started by Moco in "our Lives " section-posted on the 13th July.
Looking forward to all your future book suggestions.
I've just bought Kite Runner, and looking forward to staring it. I've only heard good reviews so far for the book, and believe they are making it into a film.

I have read a Thousand Splendid Suns but not The Kite Runner.Like Emerald I have heard very good reports although I think the beginning is a bit upsetting......probably why I have not read it. If you have read it can you re assure me? I may have dreamed it but Im sure I saw an ad for a DVD so have they already made a film of it? Finally, I am not sure if I have to do something to join Eyes Down ....I have just sort of joined in! Is that ok!? x

Yes, The Kite Runner if anything is better than 1000 Splendid suns. Have seen the film too which was fairly true to the book. there are disturbing parts (as in the second book) but you have to remember where it is set. Yes Charlotte1 -you just post your review after 1st of the month. Happy reading!

I have just had a look at this website and have only participated in this forum for the first time this weekend so I am pleased to have found this. I have printed out the book list and I will try and get the book for August. I live in a small town so I may struggle to get books. However I would like to try and join in so I will make a effort to find the August choice. I look forward to making a contribution in the future. Thanks to Emerald for continuing with the book list.
