I've not read it but I've read about it - must be pretty good as I think she's got a book deal out of it...

Hi Lynne, I have just finished reading the book - bought off Amazon for £3.86. I was a bit disappointed after reading all the hype and reviews - some of it is quite funny - even laugh out loud - but fell a bit short for me personally. An easy read if you are looking for something lighthearted. Hope this helps. Jan

Thanks Jan for your views, and Ashbee and Nannyconnie...Ive just read it and I too felt that it fell short of what I had been expecting.....maybe because my offspring are grown up and away., I don't know.....I live very very near the place that she does and hoped that that fact wouldnt influence my views...I suppose that inevitably it must have some effect but the book didnt seem to do the trick for me...I wanted it to be funny and touching but I think I must have lost my sense of humour as I just found quite a lot of it to be a bit...well...irritating....and how many times can you write about losing car keys or running out of petrol in one book and still keep it interesting and fresh....it all became a bit boring really.....ages since Ive felt like this about a book and glad that I had borrowed it from a friend and that I hadn't paid good money for it..... It would be great hearing others views about it in case I have totally lost the plot.

I read a short adaption in a newspaper may have been the Sunday Times can't remember. If I remember wife gives up the city for a designated time for the sake of husband and kids. At the end of the time alloted she decides to stay again for sake of husband and kids. I did think I might get this and read it but may not after reading the reviews.
