Book Club in Cardiff
      #48962 - 13/01/2008 16:58

Does anyone know of any book clubs already set up in Cardiff? Would just like to meet up on a monthly basis to swap and talk about books. I'm a complete 'bookaholic' and have so many books in the house.

I am also in Cardiff. Can't describe myself as anywhere near a bookaholic, but I have just finished Clarissa's autobiography. I may have more in common with your title of empty nest. Did you get anywhere with setting up a book club?

Hi
Thanks for replying to my post. You are actually the first person to be interested. A book club doesn't seem as popular in Cardiff as a Walking Club that I have got involved with. However sometimes it can take a while for interest to develop and I am sure that we could get a group formed in the next couple of months. I will send you a PM.

Hi everyone

Just noticed that some people have responded to my old post. I put it up months ago and had given up being able to set a book club up in Cardiff. I have got involved in a walking group and had been focusing on that.

It would be great if we could get something going. I think the answer is to arrange a first meeting and go from there. I will send you all a PM to try and arrange a date.

Good to meet you today. I think it's a good idea to try reading Notes from an Exhibition by Patrick Gale as it has been recommended on this site.

Hi Charlotte1

Nannyconnie is also going to join us in reading our chosen book. When we have all read it we can arrange to get together and see what we all made of it. If anyone else wants to join in please do.
