as it's apparently known, due to it's large textile heritage. It features Polands largest film schoole ( my porn star lighting may come in handy Karina!), art nouveau buildings and a rowdy nightlife - and about to get a lot rowdier! Since that mixologist came on board, some of you haven't been sober....

By the end of WW2, Lodz had lost around 420,000 of its inhabitants, 233,000 of them Jews. It's 'interesting', despite thinking I knew a bit about the last war, and hearing figures like 6 million died in the Holocaust, it brings it home a bit more when you realise how many people died from a single city.

Anyway, before the drinking starts, I though we could visit Lunapark
Just had the result of X Rays on neck. Spondolosis. Nothing you can do for it, apparently it doesn't get better.

Doctor advised me not to sew at my machine, not to knit and not to come on to my computer. That is just giving up as far as I am concerned. Oh I cannot do that.
Any of you other ladies got this problem. What can you take or do to help.

Morning all

A reminder for any newer steppers, we usually suspend the stepsisters thread from circa mid-July through to the beginning of September whilst people are off on holiday and running after rug rats. I should abe doing my half million challenge in September,so I'll update, but we will have found somewhere nice to summer by the time we get to the end of July.

Zib, I've seen a couple of the American 'Who do you think you are' programmes, fascinating stuff, don't remember seeing Lisa Kudrow's though. Unsurprisingly on this side of the pond, there have been a few celebs whose parents/grandparents lives were very much shaped by the war. It's very difficult to grasp how cataclysmic it was for Europe - even in the UK, we were cut off a little by the channel, though I'm sure anyone enduring the blitz would have thought differently at the time.

Belchow is possibly not going to feature in our collective memories - not famous for anything and nothing of note ( it's like being at home, ahme).

pretty bad when the best pic of Belchow is the road in, taken by sunny with her dashcam! Not one of my vans...but, slightly amusing story. When our vans come to the end of their lives, they invariably get sold to some 'interesting' people...we got rid of one once and forgot to remove the tracker from it. About two weeks later, we watched it zooming around Kracow - it's funny business!

Saturday 4163
Sunday 9632

Saturday low ( excuses) after picking up two dogs from different locations and taking them to rescue. One was only 13 weeks old and poor thing was drooling all the time, really really scared. Staffie x with very long legs and very loving.

I already have osteoarthritis in both knees which I have had for over 10 years and then completely out of the blue about a month ago started having really bad pain and weakness in my elbows, wrists, fingers swollen, top of back, shoulders, neck, feet and ankles. Eventually went to see doc just over a week ago and he took blood sample. It has come back showing inflammation and doctor has referred me to see a rhemutologist as he thinks it could be psoriatic arthritis. Wondered if anybody suffers from this and what the treatment is. I have had the skin complaint psoriasis for about 50 years and at the moment I have got a bad flare up of it. I am very tired at the moment and can hardly do even the mundane simple daily chores. Any advice would be appreciated.

Seeing the problem about a sore ear, prompted me to ask about my ear problem. It is not sore and I can hear perfectly well and is fine when I am standing. But at night it is driving me mad.

It started with just being itchy. Then tinitis started, which sounded like the dishwasher. This meant that the only way I could get to sleep was to sleep on that side and the noise would go. Now it feels blocked, but again I can hear okay, the tinitis is louder and even sleeping on that side does not shut it up.

I haven't been to the doctors as, to be honest, we are not registered here. I only went twice in 22 years to my previous one so thought there was no rush. I was waiting till Chichester was done, to go through all that palaver.

Anyone any ideas?

Today we are in Wyszkow and if you all get your bottoms into gear, we will be in Warsaw over the weekend.

Not much to say about this place. In common with many places in Poland, the town had quite a large Jewish population in 1939, by 1945, there were no Jews left. In 1997 a memorial was unveiled which incoporated the headstones from the Jewish cemetary,w hich had been ripped up to be used as flooring in the gestapo HQ

Has anyone with arthritis tried an exclusion diet to try and identify any trigger foods … or to simply reduce the pain? Or what about acupuncture or other complementary therapies?

I had 2 glorious pain-free weeks last November, when I was in Australia then came back and WHAM! It was worse than it had ever been before, and has continued at this level most of the time.

I'm sick of taking painkillers, and to be honest I try to avoid them when the pain's just bearable. But yesterday, for the first time, my ankle was very painful and today my left hip is agonising.

Sorry to be a wuss, but I could cry at the moment.

It hurts to stand, to sit, to lie, to walk … I'll get kicked off the Step Sisters thread if this carries on - I know the day's far from over but I've only managed 1310 so far today, and most of that was wandering round M&S in a confused state!

Any tips and hints would be wonderful. I'm going to avoid alcohol for the next couple of weeks and see if that makes a difference.
For anyone that doesn't know what sunny looks like, here's the thread where Shelbee confirmed her appearance. To be honest reading that thread, I feel we have calmed down a bit.....only a bit.

So today we are in Ukmerge, which is odd given that Scotland is trying to do the reverse!

It's a very old town that has seen a number of battles going back to the 1300s. here is an old hill fort
