Hi Ladies...Have you tried anything new lately? In the food line that is...Or are you strictly traditional meat and two veg people

Coming to Portugal we are seeing lots of strange things in the shops and markets and being the adventurous types we are giving them a go...Of course things like the traditional Pasteis de Nata (custard tarts) are very familiar being so like the custard tarts I ate at home in Manchester years ago..altho with a different pastry base..delicious...The fish is an adventure...cherne being my new favourite....veggies?..well a sort of rape seed greens no idea what its called but its lovely cooked with a little melted butter .....My favourite thing of the moment though is...Loquats....We have a tree in the garden which I ignored last year thinking you couldnt eat the fruit...wiser now...sooooo delicious...made into a crumble with blueberries..or a jam....The chinese use them for anything to do with chest infections, colds, lung and asthma problems..most cough sweets are made of loguats ..So what are your new discoveries? GeniB

After doing everything to make my bathroom nice, regrouping, new floor etc. decided to go for it and have it all replaced. It is a family home, although just me here as cannot face a move. However rarely have a bath nowadays as prefer a shower most days. What are your views on taking bath out and replacing with walk in shower. At the moment I have an electric shower over the bath. Your feedback would be appreciated.

We have lived in this house for 6 years now and inherited the existing kitchen which we love. It is pale ivory units with navy blue granite worktops. However the worktops are looking increasingly dull and tired. They are navy blue granite with a little sparkle dust thrown in! However over the past 6 years they have become increasingly duller. What to do? Is there a magic formulae out there to restore them to their former glory. Can I get them re-buffed professionally?
Ideas, tips and hints please ladies:)

The spare bedroom that is used about one night a month at most, need brightening up. At the moment it is matt sand but am considering painting it all white silk. Has anyone else got an all white bedroom. The one fitted wardrobe is white and I am having white dressing table. The new curtains I buy will probably be a gold silky fabric with matching bed quilt. The room 12 x 10. Would be grateful for your comments.
