Our short story writing course
Monday 8th October 2007
Have you ever wanted to get away from it all for a week to tap into your creativity? That's what 14 intrepid woman&home readers did when they attended the first ever w&h short story writing course run in association with the Arvon Foundation
Set in the beautiful - and very remote - hills and dales just outside Hebden Bridge in West Yorkshire, the course was taught by authors Suzannah Dunn and Moy McCrory. Our guest editor was best selling Irish novelist, Cathy Kelly. She joined the group halfway through the week to share supper, answer questions and give a reading. Cathy's pictured here with some of the women from the course.
"It was wonderful to meet so many readers who love writing," said Cathy. "I hope the course helps them to go on to realise their writing ambitions."

Every month, one person will win all of the books featured on the magazine's book page. To be in with a chance, write a compelling review of a book in our online Book Club. Good luck!
