Costa Book Awards

Jenny Steel, winner of the woman&home Short Story Competition, attended the glittering Costa Book Awards, sponsors of our short story competition. Jenny is pictured here with novelist Victoria Hislop, author of the number one bestseller The Island.
Jenny and her husband Richard mingled with famous faces at the glam event. They joined a table with top writers Deborah Moggach, Lisa Jewell and Jenny Colgan plus woman&home Editorial Director Sue James, Books Editor Fanny Blake and Editor-At-Large Tessa Hilton. A. L. Kennedy won the Costa Book of the Year prize for her novel, Day.
Jenny's winning short story, The Handyman was chosen earlier in the year by w&h's panel of short story judges.
Jenny's prize was £1500 plus her invitation to the Costa Book Awards and a night at the swish Intercontinental Hotel on London's Park Lane.
