Getting rid of unwanted items can be highly therapeutic, and if you do nothing else this week take a moth-eared object or two to the charity shop and enjoy the feeling of lightness and release when they’re gone. Of course, the really important exercise in elimination should be taking place in the realm of feelings. If you have been hanging on to a grievance or beating yourself up about a past incident, it is time to let it go; obsessing about a situation never cures it. On the other hand, should a chapter come to an end in an abrupt and unwelcome way, now is not the time to try to rectify it. Gain distance and perspective and you may find certain advantages to the new status quo.
