Book club
Deb Coleman, 48, lives in Eastbourne and runs her own holiday company, Lespatis.com. She is married to Tim, 49, and they have two children, James, 23, and Camilla, 19.
“We lived in France for nine years for our business. I worked from home and it can be very isolating. I was quite lonely, so when we moved back to England, I really wanted to develop a wide social circle.
I read about the forums in the magazine and saw them as a quick and easy way to make friends. I found them very grounding after being away from home for such a long time. I think the forum has a hugely supportive role to play in people’s lives, particularly if you want to make new friends.
I posted asking if anyone wanted to start a book club in the area. A few people responded and wanted to get involved.
Now I'm really looking forward to our first get together. I’ve just invited the women round for coffee to get things rolling. I’m doing an English Literature degree at the moment, so I'm excited about being able to discuss books in a slightly more light-hearted way.”
