First love: Friends Reunited

Lisa Morgan, 40, had an on-off relationship with classmate George Lloyd, 40, at school. She went on to marry twice, have two children and become a lawyer. They were reunited 22 years later and are now engaged.
First love
I started noticing George when we were about 13. We both went to a grammar school in Shrewsbury. He had long blonde hair, always in his eyes, and a body built for rugby! He always sat behind me in class and we were often in trouble for talking. We flirted outrageously and there was lots of teasing, hand-holding and kissing.
Break-up
When we were 14, George’s parents bought a hotel on the Welsh border and moved. Suddenly he was gone, and that was it. I married Andy, an RAF officer, and had two children, Alex, now 17, and Charlotte, 15. Andy and I simply weren’t compatible and we divorced, and I later married a senior university lecturer, who was 14 years older than me. When I registered on Friends Reunited, I was a property lawyer for Shropshire’s biggest law firm, and living in a beautiful Georgian townhouse.
Reconnecting
I had everything, but I wasn’t happy. I disliked my job, was unhappy with my life and found the marriage suffocating. A week after I’d registered, I received an email from George asking if I’d like to meet for a drink. I learnt he was divorced, had a son from a previous girlfriend and lived alone. When I went to meet him he was still gorgeous! We had such a good laugh together, and talked and talked. That was 2 September 2004. By mid-November, I’d left my job, my marriage, my gilded cage, taken the children and moved in with George.
Second love
We’ve completely changed our lives. We bought a cottage on the Herefordshire-Wales border, we have 12 assorted animals, and grow our own fruit and veg. The children love it here. George and I get each other completely, and I’m happier than I’ve ever been.
George, a local government officer, says:
I remember following Lisa around a lot. I liked the way she looked, and I liked her attitude. Lisa’s maiden name is Strefford and I used to score other girls on what I called “the Strefford scale”, and when I went to Shrewsbury, I’d always keep an eye out for her. I don’t think I’ve had a bad life, so no real regrets. But I’m enjoying my life much more now!
