Feeling festive
I'm a big Christmas person. We always celebrate Christmas at home – I'll do the cooking and will make a traditional roast turkey, though the kids will chip in and help now.
Our family traditions are still going strong, even though both Carly and Ace are now in their thirties! About eight years ago, I said I wouldn't do their Christmas stockings any more as they were all grown up, but they were completely outraged.
For New Year's Eve we're not big partygoers – we like to be at home. Last year, we cracked open a bottle of rosé Champagne and danced in front of the telly!
Music and me
Music and singing have been as much part of my life as modelling, so when I was approached about recording a new album earlier this year, I jumped at it. Originally, it was going to be a collection of songs from the 20s and 30s. But it expanded to almost 100 songs from the 60s, 70s and 80s too. In the end, we whittled it down to 12 well-known tracks. It's a collection of songs I feel passionate about.
I think everyone should sing – it's so good for you, as it makes you breathe deeply and it's good for you emotionally, too. It's a brilliant release way of lifting the spirits.
I have an iPod, but I do still love CDs. There's something nice and tangible about a CD. I'm a mixture of old and new – I love my sewing machine, but I've also embraced new technology. The iPad is what did it for me – it's extraordinary.
A thirst for work
I guess Leigh and I should be slowing down, but I can't envisage it. Thank goodness, health wise we're good – and if you can keep your health, that is everything. It means I can do what I love, which is working.
I'm amazed when people say they plan their careers. A lot of what has happened for me over the years has been pure chance. I haven't ever deliberately reinvented – I've grabbed opportunities that have come along.
Not everything I've done in life has been successful, but life is a fabulous learning curve. I really believe that from every experience, you learn something.
Looking good
Cosmetic surgery is getting so common now and can be scary, but I do know people who have had little nips and tucks done very well. I haven't had anything done yet, but maybe I'll hit 70 and think it's time – never say never.
I would never, ever use Botox, though. It's poison. Why would you inject your face with that?
My golden rules for looking good are to moisturise to ridiculousness with a really rich moisturiser. And I always take my make-up off before going to bed.
My weakness is chocolate – especially butterscotch and nut varieties. My other pleasure is a glass of wine with dinner.
