Double rum hot chocolate

A wonderfully decadent chocolate drink recipe with a touch of alcohol for extra kick

Soothing, decadent and very adult. Just omit the rum for the under-18s.

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Serves 4

600ml (1pt) whole or semi-skimmed milk
200g (7oz) dark chocolate, chopped into small pieces
2tbsp golden or dark rum
1 cinnamon stick
100ml (4fl oz) whipping cream, whipped to soft peaks
cocoa powder, to serve

Place the milk, dark chocolate, rum and cinnamon stick in a saucepan and heat gently, stirring until the chocolate has melted.

Give it a quick whisk to blend it all together.

Pour into four mugs or heatproof glasses, top with the whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder.

Per serving: 465 calories, 29.5g fat (18g saturated), 39g carbohydrate
