Anti-ageing foods that really work

Choose anti-oxidant rich food that fights ageing and eat your way to line-free skin and glossy hair

Anti-oxidant rich foods can really help you fight ageing. The best anti-ageing foods are lean meat, fish and shellfish, greens, vitamin C-packed citrus fruits and juicing, garlic, fresh herbs, fresh fruit, avocados, coconut, unsalted nuts and green tea.

Anti-ageing food facts:
Exercise helps control your
blood sugar which helps to manage or prevent diabetes. Excess glucose and insulin speed up the ageing process in the body, which is why diabetics age faster. So that bowl of porridge in the morning is the very best way to start the day as the slow release of complex carbohydrates helps prevent surges in blood sugar levels.

Green tea is truly a wonder food packed with antioxidants that fight free radicals, which cause cell damage. Also, vitamin C is the first line of defence in protecting against free radical damage, so eat plenty of citrus fruits and fresh vegetables. Try to have an orange a day plus juice. The RDA is 75mg but nutritionists recommend closer to 300mg.

Avocados is high in vitamin E content, which keeps your skin soft and supple. Avocados contain healthy monounsaturated fat, fibre, folic acid, iron, vitamin B3 and potassium. Eaten just with a squeeze of lime or lemon juice, made into guacamole or simply added to salads, they are delicious.
