London’s most famous tree is being lit up this weekend – don’t miss out on the festive fun

First given as a thank you from Norway for the help we provided during the Second World War, Trafalgar Square's impressive Christmas Tree has become something of a British tradition.

This week sees its Christmas lights be switched on and it's an event not to be missed. Head to the Square early to ensure the best spot then ooh and ahh when the lights go on at 6pm. It's also a chance to enjoy the groups of carol singers, which will be performing in the Square from 7 to 22 December to raise money for charity.

A sure way to get you feeling Christmassy.
