Our woman&home astrologer Penny Thornton makes her horoscope predictions for the rest of 2009. Find out what's in store for you, Pisces

General
This is year eleven of a twelve-year cycle so many aspects of your existence are reaching the end of their natural life in preparation for a new start in 2010. It is also a period of preparation both in the sense of getting in physical shape and putting in the groundwork of future endeavours. With this in mind, you should aim for a low-key summer, staying away from busy holiday centres and focusing on the people to whom you are close and those things that bring you quiet pleasures. July has the most to offer in the way of happy events and beautiful moments - in many ways a complete contrast to September which is full of change and unexpected diversions, and we're not talking travel here so much as deviations from your plans. Indeed, as soon as September comes in you need to be tying up loose ends and getting rid of anything that is encrusted with mothballs.

Love

Quiet pleasures could include love, of course... July sees you in full flower, more light-hearted than of late and meeting people more for fun than serious romance. However, July's eclipses could prove to be slow-burners, by which I mean, what initially seems to be a casual relationship could turn into a passionate and committed coupling. (And if the other person is Cancer or Virgo, so much the better.) If you are already in a twosome, make the most of your time off by doing things together and recapturing the spirit of your early days. The Saturn-Uranus opposition, which has made relationships somewhat volatile and painful, will be back in business during the second half of August, mid-September and mid-December so some of that preparation could be put to good use strengthening the bonds of love or securing an exit strategy.

Work and money
The autumn is going to be an important period for financial affairs but with that theme of preparation playing long and loud in your horoscope, don't miss opportunities or warning signals during the summer. Generous settlements are unlikely and your financial history will be scrutinized within an inch of its life before moneys are loaned, so keep costs down and your expectations realistic. Nonetheless, you have enterprise! And you should not be deterred from making or activating plans that involve carving out a new career path for yourself. Pisceans are natural healers and helpers – and they can be exceptionally smart too – so staying in a safe old groove could be in your worst interests. Jupiter will bring about many golden opportunities next year and you can use this time to create new templates for yourself.
