Our woman&home astrologer Penny Thornton makes her horoscope predictions for the rest of 2009. Find out what's in store for you, Leo

General
Half way through 2009 and have there been improvements? Have hopes been realised? Jupiter is guaranteed to bring off one fantastic event this year so if nothing has yet materialised, don't give up on your stars – there are signs of good things to come, especially on or near 14th  August, 11th  September and 10th November.  August with its lunar eclipse is the month with the mostest in terms of happy events and success, and the summer as a whole should show you that you have some great people in your life. Holidays and projects with friends are starred, and there could be weddings and celebratory events to attend. Alignments of mid-September and mid-December provide an awakening and a liberation, however, if before that time you are nurturing doubts about the viability of an endeavour or an association, make sure you have a safety net of some description in place.

Love
Jupiter and Neptune make a great team in the zone of relating. They can bring soul mates together and restore love that has waned. However, they can also lead you to make some very unwise choices, so if your friends and family are issuing warning sounds about a prospective partner, don't be too pig-headed to listen. Without trust, love cannot thrive but that doesn't mean you should throw common sense out of the window. If someone new comes into your life on or near 6 August, this person has a hugely important role to play in your life, and events that take place around this date will have a similarly life-defining quality about them.  Indeed, the next six months have much to offer all Leos – married, single, divorced or seeking – in the way of emotional epiphanies and divine encounters.

Work and money
The Saturn-Uranus opposition continues to play havoc with many Leos' finances but fortunately not for much longer. Steps should be taken in July to help stabilize finances. I don't mean to pour iced water on your efforts and ambitions but this is not the time to pin your hopes on a turn-around in the housing market or the global economy. Nor is it the time to pour all your savings into an untried business venture. Prevention is better than cure, and rather than run into a cash-flow crisis in September, secure agreements and follow a tight budget before then. Your astrological strengths come in the form of people who admire your talents and are prepared to back you and your ideas, so although luxury may be off the menu for the moment, you are by no means destitute!
